Who We Are
Healing For The Soul is non-profit (501-C3) organization based in New Jersey. Our vision, passion and resilience has allowed us to provide new innovative outlets to fight hunger. Our feeding initiative has taken center stage over the last 5 years, and we’ve successfully promoted 9-feeding tours, 325 feeding events, attracted over 90 noted sponsors / endorsements and fed over 50,000 people in need.
In 2020 we started selling our signature dish “Murphy’s Chicken N Potatoes” to raise funds for our church, this led to getting that same food dish FDA approved to provide this tasteful, nutritious meal to people in need. We’ve grown from a fundraiser to a food brand, to a food distributor, to a food trailer and now our organization operates out of 5 kitchens throughout South Jersey.
Our feeding team, affiliates, volunteers, sponsors, and board members all play an intricate role in expediting food to people in need. Our feeding initiative produced 18 holiday events over the years for senior communities throughout 3 states. We offered them a memorable experience, a 5-course meal with dessert, this joyful event also provided holiday music. Since, Covid we have served over 25,000 hot meals to the senior community. The summer of 2022, we dedicated the entire summer to providing 600 meals weekly to 4 senior buildings throughout the season. This was part of our “Serving Our Seniors” Summer Tour.
Our Racing To Feed Series introduced our Heat N Eat initiative in 2022 into New Jersey Public Schools. This was in collaboration and with full support from the teacher’s union known as The Atlantic County Council of Education Association. We supplied them with countertop refrigerators, stocked with our FDA approved Murphy’s Chicken N Potatoes to classrooms, and the teachers provided the delicious meals to students struggling with insecurity issue. In 2023 our Racing To Feed Series was approached by Channel 12 TV station, to film a 30-minute docuseries. The film crew set up as we kicked-off the new campaign by serving 200 first responders. The new Racing To Feed series began to grow around Southern New Jersey as we partnered with different organizations, housing authorities and entities to provide a nutritious hot meal for residents. We also provided our mobile food unit to serve public schools in Hammonton, Egg Harbor City, and Buena to provide a hot meal as an after school feeding event.
Summer of 2023, a new “Racing To Feed” division was launched in North Carolina. We served a total of 6 events over the 2023/2024 years at the Arthur Edington Center in Asheville, NC. Plus, we served an additional 22 feeding events in 2022/2023 in Delaware and in Virginia.
In the fall of 2024, we launched into disaster relief mode and successfully prepared, packaged, and delivered 2,500 meals to victims of Hurricane Helene through our “Meals for Asheville” campaign. The Oak View Group generously donated the kitchen at the Atlantic City Convention Center, allowing us to prepare the meals on-site. We had just seven days to raise $4,500 online from donors and sponsors eager to support our mission.
On October 15th, a 20-foot truck departed the Atlantic City Convention Center and arrived in Asheville, NC the next day, just one hour before the scheduled meal distribution. In November 2024, our Racing to Feed team stepped in to provide over 100 freshly prepared meals to law enforcement officers across Cumberland County. This effort came in the wake of Sgt. Mosley’s tragic slaying, as we sought to offer a gesture of comfort and support to officers throughout the county. Earlier this year we introduced Operation Bounce Back Live!! This is a new economic relief component to assist people in need virtually, we are introducing this thru our Facebook relief page.
